In a move that nobody asked for Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition is getting a Battle Royal update, and it is a challenge even to RTS veterans. As part of the anniversary update, the new battle royal mode will see players race against the clock with two heroes to find bases and build an army, with resources slowly trickling in. Like in all Battle Royal games, as the timer counts down the map will shrink, destroying anything that it engulfs in the progress.

With the Battle Royal mode speed is everything as you try to build the strongest force to face off against seven other players and a relatively strong force of NPC guardians. But the question remains is this update what anybody wanted and will it bring people back to the timeless Real-Time Strategy game. Only time and you the players can give us that answer, so let us know in the comments of this post on our social media pages which you can find below and let us know whether you will be playing the new Battle Royal mode on Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition.
