During this weeks game awards, we saw Vin Diesel star in an unexpected trailer, Ark 2. This new trailer had us in the first half, as we were not expecting to see this survival title at the game awards. The trailer gives a more cinematic feel to Ark meaning we could be seeing a more story-driven game with Ark 2, unlike its online multiplayer predecessor.

For those that have not played Ark, this title is an online multiplayer survival, where you can either go it alone or with your friends against a prehistoric world filled with dinosaurs, giant bugs, long-extinct animals, mechs, future tech and other players, in a fight for your life. With Ark now seeing big stars like Vin Diesel in not just the cinematic for the upcoming game but also in an upcoming animated series could we see a different path for Ark 2? One which focusses more on PVE elements rather than its PVP elements, that ultimately put off a lot of latecomers thanks to gatekeepers and general server levelling. At this point we do not know, we can only confirm that there will be a "Next-Gen Multiplayer Sandbox".

Not a lot of details have been given yet for this upcoming title. Still, I am sure we will be learning a lot more about how the game will play in the near future, I personally don't think we will see Ark 2 release until the animated series releases in 2022, and with stars like Vin Diesel in the game itself, it is also unlikely that we will see this sequel hit Early Access much like its predecessor which stayed in Early Access for two years.
