Releasing TODAY (on May 28th) BOY BEATS WORLD will make fans of the classic 2D Zelda titles feel right at home, but with a musical twist. Playing as ‘Boy’ you will be beating foes with your array of musical weaponry, adding to the vibing soundtrack that radiates around you. It is clear that this title actually follows a similar styling to Crypt of the Necrodancer, and if you liked that title, then you’ll love this one. Check it out on Steam here!
Developer Duckbridge state that the idea for this game came from a large sum of experimenting with top-down battle systems, claiming:
“One big thing we wanted to tackle was the battle systems of these type of top-down games because we felt there was lots of room for improvement. We also knew we wanted the game to be set in the future, or at least a sci-fi world… After experimenting with music as a weapon we realized what we wanted to make. A rhythm type game in which the player was allowed to make mistakes and that would focus on feeling the beat and vibing out to it. In contrast to many rhythm games we saw and played in which the player has too high-speed perfect button inputs to progress.”
Game Features:
Unique rhythm gameplay mechanics.
Fully fleshed out world with many places and characters to discover.
A meaty kick-ass soundtrack in an electro style.
A freestyle mode for players that have trouble feeling the rhythm.
Enemies, bosses, loot and a shop.
A talking radio named Daisybell.
Be sure to go and check the game out on Steam and give the game a try. BOY BEATS WORLD releases at £9.99 at approx. 17:00 bst! You can check it out on Steam here!
