Baldur’s Gate 3 has been delayed! The epic Dungeons & Dragons adventure by Larian Studios was due to go into early access this month. However, that is no longer the case. A recent Tweet from Larian confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3 will no longer launch in August for early access, but a release date is “around the corner” and will be announced on August 18th at 6 pm BST during the Panel of Hell event, which will also feature “Big News” from Larian founder Sven Vincke and Geoff Keighley.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is set 100 years after the events of Baldur’s Gate 2 and is based around the “forgotten Realm” campaign of Dungeons & Dragons. We can expect to see a lot of classic creatures and factions from the classic Dungeons & Dragons campaign, including Mind Flayers, Flaming Fist Mercenaries and the Dragon Riding Githyanki. With this being the first stand-alone Balders Gate game in 20 years (not including remakes and DLC) we can expect to see a lot of Dynamic new gameplay elements, along with breath taking level designs, which Larian have proved more than capable of creating through their Divinity franchise.
