Anti-Gravity racing is the pinnacle of 90’s racing games, with high octane action, smooth dynamic racing and incredibly complex courses, along with that all important EDM soundtrack. Now British Indie Developers R8 games bring the once classic genre to a new generation of gamers with Pacer, a brand-new take on the “Wipeout” genre offering new ways to play in 4K at 60 FPS. You can Check out the incredible looking release trailer for Pacer above, along with everything we can expect from this exciting new racing title below.

Pacer will merge the incredibly popular world of Battle Royale gaming with the lightspeed racing of the 90’s in their “unique Storm Mode”. Storm Mode will be a brutal race for survival in a “contracting field play”. As we pilot our way through the storm we are of course going to want to fight back, and look stylish while we do it, luckily Pacer allows us to craft an array of weapons and cosmetics just for that. Like all Arcade racers Pacer would not be complete without a great selection of courses to prove yourself as the greatest pilot around. In total Pacer will offer 14 maps, for you to reign victorious in what could be the greatest looking indie racer we have seen for this generation. For those with a much more competitive streak in them you can also check out Pacer’s Ranked Modes and Tournament Modes, Making both competitive events and Streaming events incredibly easy to manage between you and your friends or followers.

If Multiplayer is not your forte Pacer does offer single player modes too, with a Single Player Storm Mode, along with its own campaign, where you can unlock skins from each of the 10 available teams, along with additional courses and speed classes. As an additional bonus there is also a full spectator mode available, allowing you to record and watch races from new angles. Watch the race with chase, nose, orbit or environmental cameras, which will all display race statistics. This feature will be incredible for creatives who want to really show off their skills on the racecourse through their videos and screenshots.

Finally, no anti-gravity racing game would be complete without an incredible soundtrack to keep you pumped as you race around the course. Pacer will feature music from Welsh musician CoLD SToRAGE a.k.a Tim Wright. Tim Wright has had his music featured in over 70 games, including the original Wipeout and Gravity crash games.

Pacer will release on September 17th, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with enhanced features for the Playstation 4 Pro and Xbox Series X. Will we be seeing you in the storm? Join us on our social media channels below and let us know!
