Cyberpunk 2077 has had a rocky start since its launch at the start of this month, but since then gradual fixes have been rolled out and for many of the fan base the game is now for want of a better word, playable, meaning that for many including some members here at 3Bit they can finally progress the adventures of V and will ultimately be able to complete 2020s most anticipated game within a month of its release (hopefully). But whilst Cyberpunk is now playable for most there are still many flaws that need ironing out, most specifically for console players, but CD Projekt Red seem to have their eyes set on the future, as earlier today they announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will be getting free DLC in early 2021, leading to the question: Is this too soon?
Whilst there are many views to this question, I personally believe it is not too soon, as this DLC has only been given the promise of early 2021, meaning that we potentially have 2-3 months of patchwork prior to its release, by which point optimistically speaking all players should be able to enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 in its intended glory. Of course, who is to say that the same issues will not be run into again with the DLC. Well for me I still carry some faith in CD Projekt Red in that it has learned from the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 and the DLC will be introduced with stronger standards than the prior launch.
As for what the DLC is, there is no answer to that just yet, as the Cyberpunk website states for us to “Stay tuned for more info”. I would love to see an expansion to the map with a new story branch for my second playthrough, but unfortunately, we will not know the answer until the announcement is made.
