During last night's Summer Games Fest Kickoff Event, Host Geoff Keighly interviewed with one of the most iconic game creators ever, Hideo Kojima! This surprise guest interview saw Geoff and Kojima discussing the latest project from Kojima Productions. However, nothing was really spilt from this, but as the interview came to a close, Hideo Kojima did not let us leave empty-handed, as he revealed an all-new trailer for Death Stranding – Director's cut, which will be coming to PlayStation 5 soon!
This trailer took us back to the golden age of Kojima games, as Death Stranding protagonist Sam Bridges was infiltrating what looked like a Mule base. We hear a soundtrack reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid during his scouting before Sam finds a boxideal for hiding inside, and he proves it too. Unfortunately, this throwback is all we see from Kojima, as the Directors cut will not be getting a full reveal for another couple of weeks. However, this new trailer has sent many Kojima Conspiracists going crazy, as he referenced his previous games that he built with Konami. Could this be a sign of something else to come? Or was it Kojima just being himself and teasing his audience with something that he knows they want to see.
Personally, as a massive fan of Kojima's Death Stranding, I cannot wait to see more of what the directors cut has to offer. If I were to guess what we will be getting, I would suspect we get next -gen graphical updates, along with several hours of footage and possibly gameplay that further enhance the Death Stranding experience, along with a range of cosmetics that can bring a bit more colour and fun the overall game.
