Welcome to our first monthly highlight, for January I wanted to focus on MIDWINTER ENTERTAINMENT

This is a free-to-play action shooter where you join a squad of 3 to survive a bleak and unforgiving wintery landscape. Your aim is to survive this sandbox-style PVE/PVP environment and using your class-based abilities destroy any other Scavengers you find. This strategic game is less about run and gun and more outthinking your enemy players and the natural inhabitants, which are all hungry for flesh. The Premise for Scavengers is “We left when the asteroid shattered the Moon and froze the Earth, bringing with it a virus that birthed unspeakable horrors. We left with our lives and little more, seeking refuge off-planet – a refuge from the crazed mutants we call the Scourge; a refuge from the marauders who stayed to pillage and seize control of what remains on the surface. There are far fewer of us today. Mother – our Sanctuary’s AI protector – watches over those of us who remain. We want a cure for the virus. She wants something more. So we must do as Mother says: return to the surface to fight - for one another, against each other, and for the future of our species”. I played through the Closed Beta last December and found myself losing hours in this epic wilderness. I must admit that being an open-world RPG lover, I found myself wandering the waists trying to survive through wandering storms, PVE encounters and then was quickly wiped out by bands of gamers (who were playing the game correctly). But I found myself diving back in with a new group, gearing up, searching further. This is a game which I am looking forward to and as, and when we hear more from this Midwinter Entertainment, we will keep you up to date.
