Late last night, we saw an all-new Resident Evil Village Showcase, which has brought new trailers, News, Demos, and so much more, not just for Village, but the whole Resident Evil Franchise. But what has been announced? What’s new with Resident Evil Village? But, most importantly, when can we get hands-on with even more Resident Evil Village? You can find all you need to know right here as we cover all the incredible moments from last night’s showcase.

New Trailer

Starting with the obvious, we got new footage for Resident Evil Village, which begins with a haunting prayer to Mother Miranda before the camera pans onto a stone carved umbrella logo. From there, madness ensues as Ethan is dragged into the Village, filled with Lycans and other monsters. At one point, the trailer fills us with hope showing a small resistance band together, but as this is Resident Evil, even that is too good to be true! You can check out the haunting trailer that continues Ethan Winters Journey and drops a shocking Chris Redfield moment at the top of this page, or continue reading below for even more incredible Resident Evil Village news.

Getting Hands-On With Village.

During last night’s showcase, we got the exciting news that there would be not one but two demos coming this month for Resident Evil Village, but there are some catches. Starting today, you can pre-download the half-hour Demos, as they will only be available for a limited time. The first demo will take us to the Village, this first demo will go live on PlayStation consoles tomorrow on April 18th, at 18:00 BST, whilst the second will take us to the castle. It will go live on April 25th at 1800 BST. The big catch here is that both demos will only be playable for 8 hours (thank god they both come out on a Sunday!). What makes this an even bigger kicker is you will only get 30 minutes of playtime in each demo!

If you happen to miss this experience, fear not, as another demo is coming to PlayStation, Xbox and Steam, where you can visit both the Village and the castle for a total of 60 minutes, so choose your timings wisely! The availability on each platform can be found below from this direct quote from the Resident Evil Website:

The Mercenaries

Completing Resident Evil Village will bring something back that long-standing Resident Evil Fans will know all about. That is right, The Mercenaries is returning! First appearing in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, this fast-paced game mode will see you shooting your way to the top in what can only be described as arcade madness. This new version of The Mercenaries will bring new features, including The Dukes Emporium and the addition of abilities, which is sure to bring a whole other layer of madness.

Resident Evil Village: The Mercenaries will see us playing this classic game mode in the first person for the first time, as we push ourselves to reach a specific goal before the timer runs out. You can give yourself extra time by finding orbs within each level, and you will be able to arm yourself with some of the finest weapons and Abilities available in Village to help you complete each stage. Of course, not every stage is going to be as easy as the first, as we will see the difficulty ramp up with each stage, but it will all be worthwhile, as a special reward awaits those who are bold enough to complete what we anticipate being an absolutely insane game mode!

Other Resident Evil News

Resident Evil Village was not the only part of the Resident Evil Franchise that got exciting news during this incredible showcase. We also got the information that the Netflix Anime Series will be available this July. On top of the anime, we will be seeing more from the live-action movie reboot very soon, as the filming in Toronto has finally come to a wrap. The editing team is getting ready to add the CGI monsters.

Finally, back in the gaming world, Resident Evil is coming to Dead By Daylight this June. The full crossover event will be revealed on Dead By Daylight’s 5th Anniversary broadcast on May 25th.

The last part of this fantastic showcase was the news of Resident Evil 4 entering the world of VR. This modern enhancement of the classic Resident Evil title will be coming to Oculus Quest 2. The VR Edition of Resident Evil 4 will bring a first-person take to Leon Kennedy’s Story. More information will be available during the Oculus Gaming Showcase on April 21st.
