Today during the SquareEnix showcase for E3 this year, players have finally been shown another Final Fantasy game that is under development with a planned release for 2022. Final Fantasy Origin: Stranger of Paradise is being developed by Team Ninja and Koei Techmo, teamed up with veterans Tetsuya Nomura and Kazushige Nojima. This is a huge team, bringing together the people behind Final Fantasy VII Remake and Nioh. This is going to be a whole new direction for a Final Fantasy title, one that we here at 3Bit are incredibly excited to play. Check out the trailer above to get your first look at Final Fantasy Origin: Stranger of Paradise.
It seems that in the game, protagonist Jack and his allies are on the hunt for an enemy referred to as Chaos. To the surprise of fans, we got an awesome look at the main enemy of the first-ever Final Fantasy, Garland. So, it's safe to assume that somehow this title links up to that title, which is incredible to think. Ash and Jed, the allies of Jack, make a call out that they are the Warriors of Light as prophesied. It will be interesting how this all comes together and ties into the first title, or if it just distances itself as an entirely different game.
A trial version of Final Fantast Origins will be coming on 13thJune and is available on PlayStation 5 until June 24th, 2021. The complete title will be coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC in 2022.
