Indie Developer Fuzz Force has released a new demo today for their upcoming debut title, Fuzz Force: Spook Squad. We first checked out Fuzz Force: Spook Squad back in February, where we got to slash and shoot our way through ghosts, ghouls and many other creatures that go bump in the night with two members of the Spook Squad, Finn and Dotty. You can check out our initial impressions of this awesome roguelike “deck builder” here, or you can continue reading below, where we share a bit more about what is available in the new demo and where you can check it out.
Fuzz Force: Spook Squads original demo allowed us to fight through a haunted forest, filled with opportunities to explore, gather new dice and upgrade our gear so that we can take on a boss battle that will test both skill and luck through turn-based dice combat. The new game demo is available to download on Steam here and will bring a tonne of new features to the game, which is also out now in early access! New features to the demo include the removal of battle chips, which upgraded your weapon, replacing it with the option to equip six different dice with varying status effects.
The dice used in combat have also been rebalanced, with a new rarity system in place. The rebalance will also allow for new strategies to form, as the way dice work will no longer make “lucky numbers” the dominant strategy for winning. Another great new feature coming to the game is a bonus roll system. In this new gamble option, you can either use the money you earn in-game or even risk some HP for a 4 in 6 chance of something incredible before a battle or when gathering loot at a shop or from a chest.
As an added bonus, we will also be seeing the addition of Lix The Lizard in this all-new demo. Lix will shred his way through the environments, taking on ghouls and bears alike with his awesome guitar. You can also check out and support Fuzz Force: Spook Squad this weekend by visiting their booth at IWO Con, an all-new Indie convention starting later today on Steam.
