It is almost time to enter the extremely surreal world of Grime, which will be coming to PC early next month on August 2nd. With just days to go until we can start playing Grime, developers Clover Bite and Publishers Akupara Games have released an all-new cinematic trailer that takes us into this unreal world in the most breathe taking way possible. The trailer introduces us to our protagonist, a living black hole born into a world of out of proportion creatures. Immediately as it is born into the world, our humanoid black hole is under siege forcing him to act fast and absorb his foes.
We at 3Bit are seriously excited for Grime, and we will have even more exciting content for this game as we get closer to its release next week, but for those who are new to the page or if you have been living under a head and have missed out on our many previous articles where we have been hyped for Grime here is everything you need to know!
Grime is an incredible looking Metroidvania that featuring what many early fans are calling “Emo Kirby”. This rather hilarious nickname our black hole has earned is thanks to his unique ability to absorb defeated enemies to upgrade our anomalous hero in a nightmarish world, built of bodies of varying scale. The hauntingly surreal interconnected world sets are full of creepy yet beautiful landscapes to explore including, weeping caves, face covered deserts and many other unreal locations filled with secrets, out of this world characters and uncanny civilizations.
However, exploring the world and tearing it apart cannot be done empty-handed. We will need a weapon! Thankfully the world is filled with living weapons to collect, such as centipede whips and clawing swords. These weapons will especially come in handy when facing the mad anatomical creatures that lurk in the strange world ahead of you as you hack, slash and unleash devastating counter-attacks in “Death-Defying Combat” against bizarre creatures great and weird.
