We at 3Bit love indie games, and we love horror games too, so when you combine the two you know, we are going to be eager to play it and share our thoughts about it with you our readers. Last weekend we at 3Bit went hands-on with Labarinthine, a survival horror title from indie developers Valko game Studios. Labyrinthine is currently in early access and currently only features 2-3 hours worth of gameplay, with more updates coming before its full release, but we couldn’t wait until then to share with you just how great this experience was.
Labyrinthine is a co-op misadventure that takes a hedge maze and turns up the horror, starting with the cliché jump scares and moving you into a world of psychological torment, creepy clowns deadly monsters and eerie settings. When we played through none of us knew what to expect, and we had a good laugh at the small jumps at the beginning of the game, but as we started to solve puzzles and find tapes, we began to realise we were not the only people in the maze.
As we progressed, the challenges became harder and making the wrong turn could spell your demise, but it wasn’t just the monsters that gave us the chill, as the entire environment eventually began to turn on us, separating us when we gathered together or simply leaving us alone in the dark desperate to find light or shelter.
You can check out this absolutely horrifying title on Steam now whilst it is in Early Access for £7.99 and for this low price we cannot recommend it enough for a fun horror night for yourself and up to 3 other friends.
