Today Nintendo will be holding a 2-Part Treehouse event. One half of the event will be a Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity update and the other will be a Pikmin 3 Deluxe deep dive. For those who are not familiar with Nintendo Treehouse events, these are events where Nintendo usually showcase their games and announce new games. It was created as a replacement to attending E3 back in 2011.
The Pikmin 3 deep dive is likely to show us what differences have been made between the Nintendo WiiU version and the new Nintendo Switch version. This will be our first real chance to understand what exactly is different between the two versions, if there is any. So far the parts that we have been shown, have not impressed fans. This is due to the game not having much of a visual overhaul and seemingly being a direct port of the original game, with a few minor tweaks. The issue is that this game is being set at a recommended retail price (RRP) of £49.99, the price of a brand new release. Fingers crossed we get to see some amazing brand new content that makes up for this high asking price!
The other half of the event will be showcasing a new stage and gameplay details for the Breath of the Wild prequel, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. No clue has been given as to what this might involve although its pretty likely we will see some of the new characters that we can play as being shown in this event. In the last announcement, fans where teased with a short clip of a playable Impa, which sent the Zelda fanbase into a bit of a frenzy. So hopefully we get to see a little more of this in detail. Additionally, I imagine we will get a better glimpse into the special moves of the game, as this is something that is big in the developer KOEI's other games.
Although our thoughts here are our own, and are not given from any official source of any kind. The event will be taking place today at 18:00 bst, and we have added the live video to the top of this page! It's clear that during this event we will not see any new announcements, so be sure to set your expectations at that.
