Last year we were showcased a wonderful indie adventure title, Baldo by Italian Developers Naps team. The game takes inspirations from the highly acclaimed Hayao Miyazaki, who is most famous for epic animation titles, Spirited Away, Howls Moving Castle, My Neighbour Totoro and so many more epic titles. The game takes on a similar art style and tone to those films, making for a wonderous world that we cannot wait to explore.

Baldo features beautiful isometric action adventure gameplay, similar to that of a classic Zelda game. Although the world areas you navigate seem tighter and more compact, making for easier navigation and more frequent fights. The game features puzzle rooms, magical themes, mythology and much much more. At points, the gameplay does appear stiff, and some animation seem clunky, although strangely, this adds to Baldos charm, reminding you that this is a game made by indie developers with love and compassion. Overall, we are excited to get out hands on this Ghibli x Zelda style game, and eagerly await for its release date.

We’ve seen a rumoured release date of 30th September, although this was based on a NAPS release timeline, on the popular site Hopefully igdb, found here: This information can have come from anywhere, so take it with a pinch of salt, and hopefully we get an official release date in the next few days as Gamescom 2020 commences.
