

After watching the E3 trailer for Neko Ghost Jump! I wanted to have a quick check of this curious game. Neko Ghost, Jump is an indie puzzle platformer where you can physically shift the view from 2D to 3D, and it caught my eye. I do enjoy puzzle platformers, and with an exciting mechanic such as view switching, I certainly think it’s a game I could get my claws into. I managed to even play through the demo on Steam, and honestly, it’s a lot harder than it looks, or maybe my reaction speed isn’t what it used to be.
What we do know is you’re a peaceful, fun-loving cat whose world gets invaded by Dog Pirates who kidnap your wife on your wedding day. It’s up to you to bounce your way through various levels, find friends, and eventually rescue your beloved. The game offers over 40 levels with 8 different biomes, including lush green jungles, deserts, icy plains, and a volcano. Each biome shown looks very well designed and in keeping with the aesthetics overall, but be careful as each area has unique enemies to battle against in Ghostform.
The Ghostform is another way to interact with the world in either dimension. If you find enemies in your path, you can switch to ghost mode and help encourage them to leave you alone as you’re secretly armed with a swordfish. Each area finishes up with a boss to really mark the achievement of completing the world. From the information in Burgos Games development blog, they are even working on putting mini-bosses in too! From what we’ve seen, all are unique and bound to test players.
Neko Ghost, Jump! also focuses on speed, whether it’s to get into the speedrunning community or even a rivalry through the leader boards. To further stand out, they also allow for hundreds of different ways to customise your character, which will really help in making the character truly yours. While we don’t have an official release date for it yet, we know Burgos Games are intending to release it on PC (Steam and Epic store), PS4/PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S Nintendo Switch, Android, iiRcade, Atari VCS.
