Today on the Resident Evil PlayStation page we got to learn new details on what to expect from the upcoming horror title on PlayStation 5. Resident Evil Village is the 8th instalment to the Resident Evil Series and will see the return of Ethan Winters as he pursues hero turned sinister antagonist Chris Redfield. When it comes to the PlayStation 5 edition of Resident Evil Village, we will see minimal load times, that will allow you to jump in right where you left off thanks to the PlayStation 5’s SSD. As expected with Next-Gen gameplay, we will also see a massive improvement in visuals when compared to the last-gen renditions of Resident Evil games. Resident Evil Village will feature 4K graphics with Ray tracing. Unfortunately, no frame rate has been revealed for playing the game in these settings, which is concerning as most early launch games for Next-Gen consoles seem to be running at 30 FPS when utilising Ray Tracing.

Along with Standard improvements, we have come to expect from Next-Gen games Resident Evil Village will also feature adaptive triggers thanks to the dual sense controller, to make gunplay feel even more immersive. The adaptive triggers will play hand in hand with the Haptic feedback, which is slated to give the feel of a real gun firing in your hands. Finally, Resident Evil Village will take full advantage of the Tempest 3D Audio. This will mean that if you own a compatible headset, you will be able to immerse yourself in the world of Resident Evil fully. The 3D audio enhancements will not only take full advantage of the purposefully crafted music for 3D audio, but it will also enhance the environment by giving you pinpoint audio accuracy on every single “hair raising” sound effect.” Resident Evil Village is currently due to release in 2021, with no official release date given yet on PlayStation 5 Xbox One X/S and PC. With the news of the PlayStation 5 features and all the details we have learnt up until this date, we here at 3Bit are incredibly excited for its release.
