As many households across the UK have finally received their PlayStation 5’s, there are still some who have not had theirs delivered. Over the past 24 hours, we at 3Bit have seen, experienced and heard first-hand stories of Pre-orders not arriving on time or even at all. This does not seem to be an isolated incident of one town and has in fact been happening across the UK. The issues with pre-orders across the UK first started with Game, who swapped a lot of deliveries to Yodel, a cheaper courier service than what many opted for, such as Royal Mail Tracked 24 and DPD pre 12 pm delivery. Unfortunately, some who chose these services were switched to Yodel and as a result never received their product on the promised day of November 19th. Thankfully though many of these customers are now receiving their PlayStation 5’s through Yodel today (November 20th) and so far, we have not had any reports of disappointment on this front. Unfortunately, when reaching out to Game, both for an explanation of the change in courier with no warning and for support on a refund for a delayed console, we have had zero response. This may be due to the high influx of complaints the Sports Direct owned company is receiving. However, it could also be down to the removal of their customer service phone lines.
Unfortunately, today we did wake up to the disturbing fact that many Amazon.co.uk customers had also not received their PlayStation 5’s, with some claiming to receive kitchen goods, in place of the PlayStation 5. More commonly, however, we have had and seen reports of delivery drivers being tracked Via the Amazon App, driving close to and even past the homes of customers with their product, only to then see their delivery time get later and later, only to then receive the notification “Delayed due to external factors”. With some people still not hands-on with the PlayStation 5 we reached out to Amazon for a comment and you can check out the response sent to us below. “We’re all about making our customers happy, and that hasn’t happened for a small proportion of these orders. We’re really sorry about that and are investigating exactly what’s happened. We’re reaching out to every customer who’s had a problem and made us aware so we can put it right. Anyone who has had an issue with any order can contact our customer services team for help.” So to echo the message from Amazon reach out to the customer service team ASAP, you can do this via the website or the app and Amazon.co.uk also offers a call back service if webchat isn’t ideal for your situation.
