Playtonic Games are setting themselves up to be a new fresh and friendly approach to publishing, with their new publishing branch Playtonic Friends. Though publishing is new to these experienced developers who have usually seen their games published by Team 17, Playtonic Friends have already taken on a small number of developers to publish their games, by drawing on their own experience of having kickstarted Yooka-Laylee. Playtonic Friends aims to "help other developers out and build lasting friendships" much like their play on words name suggests.
In an interview with gamesindustry.biz. Playtonic Friends CEO Gavin Price says that they're "not about to sign a huge number of titles as they want to be able to focus in on a few select partners. Today, Playtonic Friends announced that they are currently working with developers Awe Interactive, who brought us Bullets Per Minute, Fabraz, the creators of Slime San, and the studio behind Ok Golf Okidokico. Playtonic friends are currently facing technical issues with their social media pages which use the handle @PTonicFriends as they have managed to lock themselves out of Twitter by setting their age as one day old. Fortunately, you can still follow them @PlaytonicGames on Twitter where you can check out all you need to know from these future publishers before they announce their first game, which you will be sure to see covered here at 3Bit, so be sure to hit the follow buttons below, before going to check out the future of Playtonic.
