Project Mara, Ninja Theory's upcoming experimental title gets a new development update, focussing on just how realistic this mentally terrifying game will be. This update showed us just how meticulous the Ninja Theory team has been as they recreate the apartment that the game is set in. No detail has been spared as they explain in the video how their textures and shaders are not just made to look like the material, but use the same structures, by taking samples and gathering even the most minute details, from general wear to the little bumps in wallpaper and even dust.
Capturing realism is something that many AAA games aim to achieve, and it would seem Ninja Theory is taking it to the next level by using the structure of each material as the baseline to their shaders, making them look just like the real thing would when looking at them closely with the naked eye. Personally, I am incredibly impressed with what Ninja Theory has shown off, and I am sure you will be too when you check out the video above or some of the images below, that truly capture how the British Developers have managed to recreate this stunning apartment. We here at 3Bit cannot wait to see Project Mara's results and see how well these details will transfer into the Xbox Series X on its full release, which has not yet been specified.
