A new year of Rainbow 6 Siege has begun over at Ubisoft, and with it comes an all-new operator and map rework! As Ubisoft's biggest shooter title heads into its 6th year with operation Crimson Heist, which usually begins in line with the 6 invitationals, but this year will be live later in March, as the new update has only just entered test servers today.
The new character for Crimson Heist is Argentinian Operator Flores, who will be using a massively requested gadget from the Rainbow 6 Community, an exploding Drone. Flores will be available in the Rainbow 6 Siege Battle Pass for Premium members, and the exclusivity for premium members has been extended from one week to 2 weeks.
You can check out the full Flores reveal above and see for yourself just how devastating his drone bombs are. Flores is just the first of 4 operators to come this year. In year 6 seasons 2-4 we will be seeing other operators from The Indigenous Nakoda in the North American Prairies and from European countries Croatia and Ireland.
Along with the new Operators, we will also be seeing more map reworks, which will begin in Season 1 with Border getting a makeover. This Makeover will include destructible walls in a formerly unbreachable bathroom, which would previously allow players to bottleneck attackers. The Border Rework will also include new entry points through stairs and balconies, giving both teams new ways to make their plays in both attack and defence. The future seasons for year 6 will include other map reworks, including a full rework of Favela in season 2, Multiple small reworks in season 3 and in Season 4 the arid Outback will be getting a full rework. These new Operators and Map reworks will be supported by seasonal events throughout the year, along with more core gameplay features and regular balancing updates.
