Sonic Colors is, simply put one of the best more recent 3D entries into the Sonic universe. Averaging a user score of 84%, this title is all the good bits of Sonic Unleashed all fused together. Jumping seamlessly between 2.5D classic gameplay and fast-paced 3D goodness. In my opinion, Sonic Colors is the closest I ever felt we got to a new Sonic Adventure game but was limited by the Wii’s hardware. Be sure to check out the trailer above, and I know… it’s basically blasphemy that the games iconic theme ‘Reach for the Stars’ was not the one used in this trailer! But hey, we have e3 still to be hopeful of!
One of my biggest grips with Sonic Colors though was that it was way too short, clocking in at a 6–7-hour completion time! Also, the story is a little weak but that’s where my negatives for this title ends. Sonic Colors has solid and fun gameplay, which is the biggest thing that’s been missing in the latest games! If you’ve never played this title before and are a fan of Sonic games, then this is 100% a do not miss title. It's on the stronger end of the 3D Sonic titles, as opposed to some of the lower end games…*cough* Sonic Forces *cough*
