After today’s incredible PlayStation Showcase we got to see a lot of fantastic games along with the launch date and price of Sony’s next-gen console the PlayStation 5 (which you can find on our social media pages). One incredibly stand out game was Spider-Man Miles Morales, where we got to see our new hero shine in great fast-paced combat during gameplay footage and breathtaking cinematics. Spider-Man Miles Morales is a stand-alone spin-off to the popular PlayStation 4 Spiderman game and takes place one year after the events of the original game.

This was our first look at Spider-Man Miles Morales gameplay after its reveal in the first PlayStation event this summer. In this spectacular trailer, we see Miles watching his Mum, Rio Morales give a speech at a rally. Whilst he is a bit late getting home to change out of his spider gear, Miles is just in time to cross paths with some of the Tinkerer’s (a popular Spidey villain who first appeared in the second Amazing Spider-Man Comic) cronies. The Tinkerer’s soldiers are attempting to steal a new energy source from the Deceitful Roxxon Corporation, who have been consistent advisories of many Marvel heroes, including Captain America and Iron Man.

The drama caused by both parties leads to an explosion over a suspension bridge near Harlem. This explosion leaves Miles fighting a lot of the Tinkerer’s soldiers whilst simultaneously trying to save a civilian caught in the middle of this explosive sequence of events. The Action scenes and cutscenes show that Miles is still very experienced with the hero business, and even though he is able to save everybody, he struggles to do so. This factor could bring a whole new dynamic to the gameplay of Spider-Man Games, as the way Miles acts is very similar to the inexperienced Peter Parker, we see portrayed by Tom Holland in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
