Humanity is at the brink as machines now dominate the earth! Those who remain are scattered, desperate to survive. Will humanity be able to rise again? Find out for yourself in Rise of Humanity by Indie Developers Cybernetic Walrus in an all-new Turn-Based Strategy game that breaks away from tradition, adding deck building elements to elevate your strategic mastery. We will be able to get our first taste of Rise of Humanity this week with a free prologue chapter on Steam on June 24th. This prologue chapter will show us the ropes to Rise of Humanity as we explore a theme park called Roboworld, which sounds like a perfectly safe place to hide from a robotic uprising.

We have been fortunate enough to get hands-on with the prologue to Rise of Humanity a little bit early, and honestly, I cannot put it down. From the second you pick up Rise of Humanity, you are thrown straight into the story and the action as you respond to a distress call from the perfectly safe theme park. As I began to play, I found myself saying, “this is an indie game?” As the character models and level design looked terrific. And my disbelief continued as I began to play the game. Whilst some features could be added such as voice acting the prologue is a great taste of what is to come with Rise of Humanity, which will be coming to early access on steam soon!

Rise of Humanity’s gameplay is similar to many turn-based strategies. However, its deck-building twist really elevates the experience by making you change up your strategies between ranged and melee attack styles. This change-up of attack styles makes every playthrough unique, whether entering a new area or are playing the same level again, after a past failure, no fight will be the same thanks to all of your attacks and abilities being shuffled back within the deck after their use, meaning if you don’t lay out your deck right, you could be waiting a while to use that all-important exploding bunny.

If you are looking for your next strategy game like me, then be sure to check out the prologue to Rise of Humanity this Thursday (June 24th) before the game releases in early access!
