Sweet Pea is a challenging 2D platformer in which players guide a rolling pea through tough environments, packed with sweet little secrets, power-ups and new abilities. The world will seem simple at first, but will quickly become brutal and cruel, destroying your cute little pea in ways you couldn’t imagine! You will need to use your quick reflexes and strategic planning to beat its levels and trust me, as much as you will want to power through each level at Mach speeds, you need to slow down and plan your approach.

On the surface, Sweet Pea can look a little unpolished, and genuinely overly simplistic. It’s not a game for everyone, but as the first entry for this little Indie Dev, it’s a great start and has a huge amount of potential to grow. What’s nice about this little title though is that it’s not got a high asking price, with it currently sitting around the £5 mark, which feels fair for a newly released Indie Title. This title has a huge amount of replay-ability for those of us who like to speed run! So definitely take some time to check this little title out.

Features

  • Challenging, harsh and fun environments to navigate,

  • Rolling Pea Platforming & Physics driven gameplay,

  • Collect power-ups to unlock new abilities,

  • Unlock secret zones - fly, blast or freeze your way to victory!

  • Die in style - crushed, eaten, impaled, blown up, or drowned?

Sweet Pea is certainly the definition of an Indie Game, in that it is the first attempt at game development. When this is considered it’s a humble first effort, with a really solid idea. The game may not be perfect and may need some work, but overall it’s a really fun game with a fair asking price. I would urge anyone that reads this article checks it out on steam here.
