Trifox is an isometric twin-stick action-adventure game inspired by classic 3D platformers, which is set in a wonderfully vibrant world free to explore. In this title, you will be put in the boots of a multi-talented fox, who is on a quest to restore and return peace to his recently invaded and plundered home. Trifox does take on multiple different genres and mixes them up to bring together a unique play style. Mixing these, players will have to fight their way through swarms of enemies, using your trusty turrets to help you, engage in exciting boss fights and overcome the typical environmental challenges you have become used to in 3D platformers.
The developers Glowfish Interactive have said the following about coming up with the idea for Trifox:
“The idea for Trifox grew out of our love for the classic platform games and the colourful worlds in which they take place, combined with the action-packed and engaging gameplay that you can find in top-down twin-stick shooters and action RPGs. We asked ourselves the question: "What if Crash Bandicoot was as a top-down twin-stick adventure game?". This idea truly captured our imagination and eventually evolved into what has now become Trifox. Our goal with Trifox is to create a game that takes the best parts of those kinds of games with a dash of our own flavour, presented in an easy to pick up and play package. The dark dungeons and sci-fi landscapes that are usually associated with top-down shooters and brawlers make place for a colourful and interactive world filled with wacky characters the likes you would find in a platform game from the '90s and early 2000s.”
Trifox certainly has me excited as I am a huge fan of those classic 3D platformer games, and if this is what it draws its inspiration from, then I am on board. This game doesn’t have a release date yet, although we will be watching this title closely for an announcement.
