Today Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku (Yakuza, Judgement) announced the return of the classic fighter game Virtua Fighter 5, with Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown. The announcement was made in the west through IGN, who released the trailer on YouTube earlier today (above). The Virtua Fighter Remake will come as a console exclusive for PlayStation 4. The remade classic has been created with Ryu Ga Gotoku's Dragon engine, which has been used for Judgement, Yakuza 2 Remake, Yakuza Kiwami and even their most recent title, Yakuza: Like A Dragon.
Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown ground-up rebuild will play pretty much the same as the original. However, it will feature updated graphics, new background music for each stage, new lighting and shaders, a new UI and even a new cinematic for the opening! On top of all of this, we will also be seeing new online features that allow players to spectate games and build their own tournaments with up to 16 players in private and public lobbies. Virtua Fighter 5 will be coming to PlayStation 4 on June 1st. Will you be picking up this classic fighting title? Let us know in this article's comments
