Once again Hideo Kojima is causing a stir on the internet, as he posts some new work from home images, featuring concepts of a new game. But what clues do these images hide? What new information can we learn? Join us below as we try to figure out just what Hideo Kojima has been up to.

In the first image, (below) was from a tweet Kojima made about designing a new title with Yoji. We can only assume he means Yoji Shinkawa, best known for his work as the lead character and mecha designer in the Metal Gear franchise, as well as his role of art director in Death Stranding. Kojima goes into how each character is planned through setting, colour, and characteristics, along with roles images and other details. With the text we see an image of Kojima’s desk featuring a drawing of a what seems to be a ship of some description, covered by BB from Death stranding. Could this be a clue as to Kojima’s new title being set in the same universe as Death Stranding, as either a sequel or spin off.

In our second clue, (below) we at 3-Bit found what may be further evidence to this title being a part of the Death Stranding universe. In the image we see a few pieces of literature and a CD of the artist Kitaro, as Kojima listens to the song Oasis from the album, sharing his thoughts on the artwork for the title song. But it was not the music that drew our attention in this post, and more the drawing of yet another ship. The recurrence of ships, makes us think we could be traveling great distances will be a big factor of the next title Kojima brings us. Further analysis from Kyle here at 3-Bit led to the discovery of the word Bridges across the ship’s hull. Bridges is the key connecting America during the game Death Stranding, and it is this Death Stranding clue that led us to deep dive into this image, through many different approaches we eventually found only one other clue, and that was the concept pieces title “Landing Ship”. We here at 3-Bit have taken a split decision on this, in which one of us believes the title is going to space, whilst the other believes we are staying on earth ad traveling by ocean.

What are your thoughts on Kojima’s ships, will we be exploring the universe or the planet with them? Join us for a discussion on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

Our Final Image below is of course Kojima Working with Yoji to digitalise some of Kojima’s concepts in a safe, Work from home way. There is not a lot given away in this piece, however the predominance of Bridget’s poster in the background does further push the question. Will we see more from Death Stranding?

Update 08/07/2020

Today we revisited an old interview from Wired, from a time before we started 3-Bit, and found some more information to go toward the theory that we are indeed going to see Death Stranding 2 as our second title from Kojima Productions. The interview was with Norman Reedus Death Stranding's Lead Protaganist as part of Wired's "most asked questions. During the interview he confirms twice that he he was in talks with Kojima on a second Death Stranding title. being that this was 3 months ago and these images were from just over a week ago it would make sense that Death Stranding 2 is out of planning and is entering the concept phase.
