The race for next-gen gaming is in full swing, as Xbox Series X consoles went live for pre-order today. Unsurprisingly the Series X consoles have already sold out across most UK dealers including Amazon Argos and Currys PC World. The UK’s biggest video game retailer Game on the flipside has disappointed fans by closing its website 2 hours into the pre-orders, to “Improve the Customer Journey”. This decision kicked a lot of people out of the queue to get their Xbox Series X and has undoubtedly left them worried whether they will be able to acquire the new console on launch.
Those who are after a smaller, but significantly less powerful next-gen console, the Xbox Series S is still available to pre-order on Amazon, Argos, AO.com, Microsoft Store, Very and Shop To. It is no surprise that the Xbox Series S has not sold out, as it is dwarfed both in specifications and size by the Xbox Series X and its competitor the PlayStation 5.
It is of no surprise that scalpers have once again taken to the internet with pre-orders available for bidding, or extortionate prices, just as they did with the PlayStation 5. However, we here at 3Bit urge fans of both consoles to not buy into their greed or play their games and pre-order their next-gen consoles the right way at the right price, even if it means waiting an additional week or 2.
